Galaxy Nails

One of the latest trends in nails are Galaxy nails.Just how it sounds its a design inspired by the Galaxy itself.

This design is achieved by using as many colors as you like on top of black polish. Topped with 2 different kind of glitter to make it look like stars. Here is my take on Galaxy nails hope you like.

The Hunger Games

I'm a new fan of The Hunger Games trilogy. Read the 1st book in less than a week and now I'm almost finish with the 2nd book. Everyone who i swore and vowed to that i would never read this trilogy you can now say "I told you so"

I was very reluctant into becoming a fan of these books. I felt like it was no longer part of my generation.

Like Harry Potter was, after-all i did grow up on Harry Potter. Since i turned 25 i kept telling myself that i would leave The Hunger Games out of my life. I wouldn't even bother to watch the movie trailer or give it a shot. Until a lot of my friends started telling me how good it was. That still didn't work, but then I saw how big it was getting and had to see for myself what the big fuss was about. Now im so glad that I did i became an instant fan after the first chapter. It has such a great plot and i feel like the story line is so realistic. There's absolutely no magic, vampires or wear-wolfs. I have given in to temptation and can honestly say I'm enjoying every page. With that said if you haven't read it i highly recommend it.

The Lorax 'Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss'

This has become my favorite theme nail design. 

For the 2nd year straight I give you my Dr. Seuss inspired nail design in honor of his birthday. 

Also given that one of the movies adapted by his books comes out today. 

I decided to kill two birds with one stone by doing the Lorax.

The Lorax was published in 1971. 

'The Lorax' is a creature who tries to save the Truffula trees from being cut down. By the 'Once-Ler' who is building his invention in the land. The Lorax pleads and speaks on behalf of nature.

Happy New Year 2012 and 1 year blognniversary

Happy New Year welcome 2012.

Happy 1 year Blognniversary thank you to everyone for being part of my nail passion. I'm so incredibly thankful to everyone who has contributed in my nail art. I will continue to bring you more designs this year. I also feel blessed to have discovered this hidden talent of mine. 

It helped me escape my illness and soothe my depression.

Wow who had a great time last night??? I sure did it was fantastic i felt so blessed to have made it through another year. It was so different from last year in which i spent my new years eve in bed the whole day. Anyways hope everyone had a great time, time for new beginnings and resolutions. I dearly hope all my aspirations, wishes, goals and dreams come true this year! 

I will do the impossible to make them happen.

I'm so exited to show you my new years nail design. I went out of the traditional new years colors and opted for bright bold ones and i love how they came out. I also switched my nail shape from my favorite (pointy) to a square shape it just felt more appropriate for the occasion.Hope you like all my pictures and i love how my lips came out i tried out the Cosmopolitan New Years glitter lip look.

Also Nicole by OPI 'Rainbow in the S-Kylie has become my favorite holiday nail polish!!!

Nicole by OPI Glitter extravaganza

Unbelievable 2011 is coming to an end in less than 3 days. This year has been so special in so many ways. Ill be posting about my year in my other blog so check it out http://kpatricia19-inhale-exhale.blogspot.com/. Anyways so thought i would give it a shot and try a pre-New Year nail design. This won't be my official design,  ill be doing fiber-glass nails on my self to give them more length. I got the inspiration to do this design for two reasons. One my friend Liat Nosrati wrote a very interesting article on her website about Glitter polish  check it out at http://www.tinizine.com/2011/12/review-milani-jewel-fx/ Second inspiration was the one and only New York ball that drops as we cheer to the NEW YEAR!!!

I'm also very obsessed with glitter nail polishes I would wear them everyday if it weren't so hard to remove.

Well hope you like this design. I call it my Nicole by OPI Glitter Extravaganza because my favorite glitter polishes are Nicole by OPI and these are the one's i used. Stay tune for more New Years Designs

Wild neon flowers

Ever since i finished doing this design, ive been dying to post it. I'm extremely happy and very proud of what i consider a masterpiece lol! In class we just learned to sculpt acrylic nails, I went crazy and did my first stiletto acrylic sculpted nails. Did 3D flowers on them hope you like, as much as I do.

A Day in Israel

Tini Zine has found a way to combine our love for Israel with our love for outrageous nail art! We have teamed up with nail artist and blogger, Karla Sorto, to create the ultimate portrayal of “Nail Art: A Day in Israel.” Each nail features a different aspect of Israel that we feel is important for non-Israelis to be exposed to. We will describe each hand-drawn image that is adorned on each nail and explain why it’s important or interesting. Here we go!
Thumb: The image drawn on the thumb nail is the Israeli flag with a camel peeking in on the side and the word “Israel” spelled in Hebrew just under that. The Israeli flag is very well known and can be spotted in places across the world. Although camels do not roam all over the country, they can be found in the Negev Desert in Israel and yes, you can totally ride them. Camels are actually working mammals, they work for the Bedouins who, a majority of them, live in the Negev Desert.

Index: One of Israeli’s favorite dishes to eat is Falafel, and that’s exactly what you’ll find on the nail of the index finger, a nice big plate of Falafel Balls. Falafel balls are made of chickpeas that are ground up, rolled into balls and then fried. Falafel is usually served in Pita Bread with pickled veggies and drizzled with Tahini sauce. It is a very popular street food but it can also be found in restaurants all over Israel as it is considered the national dish of Israel.

Middle: The face of our favorite Israeli Comedian, Ori Hizkiah, can be seen on the nail of the middle finger. Hizkiah gained increased fame in the past few years for being on the popular Israeli television show, “Hardly Working.” He is very well liked among the younger generation yet still highly recognized among the older generation because of his ability to joke about every-day situations that most people will find themselves in. The majority of his jokes are in Hebrew, however, many Americans are attracted to his stand-up acts because of his knack for utilizing body language to execute most of his jokes.
Ring: The Wailing Wall is one of the most important parts of Israel and that is why you will find a drawing of the Wall on the nail of the ring finger. The Wall, known in Israel as the Kotel, is located in Jerusalem and was constructed at approximately 19 BCE. It is one of the most sacred places in Israel and it is said that the Wall is warm to the touch, even in the dead of winter. The Kotel is a very prominent prayer site and thousands of people write letters to God each year and roll them up to stick them in the cracks of the Wall. Although you will find many Jewish people at the Kotel, people of all races, colors, religions and genders visit the Wailing Wall.

Pinky: The Dead Sea is a common tourist attraction and is also the drawing on the nail of the pinky finger. The Dead Sea, also recognized as the Salt Sea is located on the border of Israel and Jordan. It is one of the saltiest bodies of water in the world, which is why you won’t find any living sea creatures in the Dead Sea and also why you shouldn’t go into the Sea with any cuts or scrapes. The surface of the Dead Sea is about 423 meters below sea level, making it the lowest elevation on Earth. It is also the deepest Hypersaline (body of water surrounded by land) lake in the world. Various cosmetics companies actually use the minerals found in the Dead Sea as a main ingredient in their products. Well, that just makes the Dead Sea all kinds of interesting, doesn’t it?

Israel is a beautiful place full of life and whimsy so we recommend that next time you find yourself in Israel you go to, see and visit all of the attractions that were mentioned in this article.
